All your domains

Unolia is the place to manage all your domains. We are neither a registrar nor a CDN. Unolia's goal is to provide you with a unified experience across all your domain providers, along with added bonuses like issue checks, valuable insight, and performance improvement.

Manage your DNS with ease

Aggregating your domains in Unolia is already a time saver, but DNS is still a mystery for many today. We are here to help you understand and manage your DNS configuration. You can change your DNS configuration with our user-friendly UI, an open-source CLI tool, and a unified API!

There are basic records that everyone knows how they work; you put an A record pointing to an IPv4 address, and voilà! Your website is visible on the internet.

Through our research, we found that many websites have invalid or insecure SPF records, so we created tools to generate and understand them.

We also provide some additional features like the Propagation Watcher. Every time you update a record, we continuously query several public DNS servers to see if the new value is propagated around the world. DNS cache can be painful at times, so we are here to ease it.

Before Unolia, you would have to find which registrar you had this domain with, update it, test it, and watch its propagation through a third-party website. Now everything is included in one streamlined app.

Your domains are constantly checked

You know the saying “it’s always DNS”? With Unolia it will be no more! We are checking for a variety of issues in your DNS configuration.

  1. First, statically when imported from your provider, we just check that everything seems in order. We validated that your TXT-based records are semantically good and that you don’t have a record conflicting with a CNAME or an NS record.

  2. Then actively test every record to ensure it is working as it’s supposed to. Effectively testing an A record can be easily done by a human by just typing the website in the address bar. But what about the more sophisticated ones? You can’t test manually if the SPF lookup limit is reached.

  3. And preventively by giving you context informations and warnings when creatin or updating a record.

Having one error message is one thing, but understanding it and fixing it is another. With each issue, Unolia will give you a one-click fix whenever possible and provide you with a comprehensive explanation.

Last paragraphs may have been vague about what we are practically testing, so here are some examples of issues that are regularly fixed on Unolia:

  • IPv4 and IPv6 target concordance

  • CNAME conflict

  • SPF lookup limit

  • DMARC rua and ruf reachability

  • and many, many more..

We can’t list all of them as we write new ones regularly, but you can find some on our blog. The best way to know if you are concerned is to try it for free!

Export, Backup and Transfert your configuration

For power users who like to work with BIND configuration, we provide a way to export your DNS.

Some providers don't have the UI for exporting your configuration in one go.

Unolia performs automatic periodic backups of your domain configuration in BIND server configuration format. You can export them manually too.

In the future, we will provide a way to transfer configuration from one provider to another, including DNSSEC.

Unified features

Unolia supercharges our domains without changing registrars or transferring your zone. I understand that sometimes you want to use a CDN provider for your project, but you miss another functionality from your registrar.

We don’t aim to replace your providers. They still do the job of answering DNS queries. But by using their API, we can enhance their features. We are making sure that we can still go back to using their UI and their services. Unolia is there as a bonus, not as a replacement.

You will have one REST API for all your domains regardless of where they are hosted. Also, DynDns and CNAME flattening for the providers that don’t support it.

Supported providers

We support all the major providers used by the community. However, it will be a bummer if only 90% of your domain registrars are supported; 100% is what we seek. We're open to new integrations, so please let us know if we miss one you use regularly, and we can work together to implement it!
